Tuesday

Monday was filled with trouble, woe and paperwork.

Victory arrived this morning.  God spoke to me. Now, God, how do I implement your message?  I am listening.

I will share with you when I have the answer.

Two letters must be mailed today.  One is the rent for the storage unit that is home to my personal belongings. The second one is a payment on a sizeable bill from the past.  Done! Thank you God for financial advancement.

Fun this evening will be attending the Christmas Program for Eliana’s 4th grade class.  In my goal plan, this is family time.  I love this picture of my son Kris and Eliana at her event.

Another activity happened for the little house project today.  A friend called and invited me  to go see a little house   in Lockwood, Mt.    I went, mostly to enjoy her company.  Gee, I got a bonus!  I loved the tiny little house and the small houses this man is building.  You may visit virtually by watching the video below.

This was a fun and productive day. It’s a clear cut path to…..

go forth and prosper,

What Would Great Grandma Josie Think of Now?

May 15, 2014 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Walking through the memories of your mind is an awesome place.  I awakened this morning, flipped the light switch on, wandered into the bathroom, splashed water on my face, went to the kitchen,  made coffee and sat down to read the Bible. Thoughts of my Mother, grandmother  and ancestors flow through my head.

How different life is for me than for my Great Grand Mother, Aunt Josie Sizemore.

If Aunt Josie could come to visit today how would life compare?  For a great part of her life, she did not have electricity or running water in the house.

As a former real estate agent, I am mentally “showing” her a house this morning.  It goes like this.  Aunt Josie, love this kitchen you just walk to the sink and turn this and water flows.  It can be hot or cold.  Now, here load all of the dirty dishes and push the antique wood stovebutton. This machine washes your dishes.    Here is your refrigerator.  It keeps your food cold.  Push a button and cook your food here  Aunt Josie, you don’t have to carry wood to cook your food.

Look at this bathroom.  This is a commode.  Pull this lever down and the water flows, washing all content away.

Aunt Josie cooked on a wood stove.  Water was hauled from a well.  Water was heated by building a fire under a “wash” tub.  The mail delivered by a man riding a mule, did not contain an electric bill.  The bathroom was an outhouse.

As we imagine showing her a house today, look at the new words she would need to learn.  Imagine her shock with the computer, jet travel, automobile travel, a hospital where babies are born….

Would she choose to live like we do?  Would she enjoy having an electric bill, cable bill, internet bill, car payment, mortgage payment or would she Walk away?

Why do we allow others to infuse us with fear?  Fear we cannot survive without electricity?  Fear we cannot live comfortably unless we have a huge house, with an exorbitant electric bill, high taxes, furnishings we don’t use?

Does God not furnish us with light during the day, a beautiful lamp called the moon for our night light?  Just for today, let’s reflect on the Free things He has given!

Do I want all of the stuff available?  Maybe.  Do I need it all?      Do you?

Capture the Home Vision

Are you tethered to debt?

Tethered to Lenders

From the experiences of the past 12 months, I can verify that a dream will become a nightmare if it gets caught in the spiders web of debt, lack, want, loneliness or emotional instability.

I am reaching out and taking steps to capture my dream and make my vision come true.  My vision will impact, influence and change the lives of those riding in my path.  Like using the the Amway circles, circling the obstacles in my path and ways to overcome, my vision will also influence some habits of my friends and draw us closer to God.

My blog  has changed format to reflect daily events in my life.  Some places and people will not be named in order not to cross the privacy line.

To capture the dream for the little house, I must first face the debt and get release.  According to God’s word I  am a servant to the lender.  Wow!  I am Superwoman! I am a Servant to about a Dozen people.  That is equal to 10 weeks manual labor wrapped into one week.  No exaggeration here!  If you doubt it try being late on a payment and listen to the phone ring  Those nice people who loaned money become a computerized monster with hourly reminders that a promise made is a debt unpaid.

So, let’s drink a Cup of Courage together and build a platform that will lead to a debt free home.

Cup Of Courage – Going Home

June 4, 2013 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

I am faced with what could be overwhelming debt.  Not bad, really,  It’s only $900 each month in the Red  My total debt is approximately $75,000.  First order for my agenda is to generate $265.00 more each week.  Secondly, I must  know exactly how much I owe.

Third step is the Little Tin Box.  Have you watched the musical The Little Tin Box?  The little song goes like this:

May we ask you a question?  Amazing is it not?  That the city pays you slightly less than fifty bucks a week, Yet, you’ve purchased a private yacht.

Witness:
I am positive your honor must be joking, Any working man could do what I have done. For a month or two I simply gave up smoking,  And I put my extra pennies one by one….

Into a Little Tin Box, a Little Tin Box  That a little tin key unlocks  There is nothing unorthodox about a Little Tin Box…..

Skipping ahead to step two, I have my pennies in a little jar accumulated in the Month of May and will be paying additional pennies on the first credit card to be paid in full soon.

By Friday evening I will have an exact amount owed.  It will be interesting to see how much my approximate amount matches  When I can’t deal with stress and debt is stress to me, I just put it in the back of my mind and pretend it isn’t there.  During my real estate career I have found others tend forget the debts owed. This action fills many cups of Stress.

Tomorrow may require two Cups of Courage to develop a plan to meet my deficit before it becomes an alligator and eats me alive.

Drink a cup of Courage and document  your facts.  Do you know how much you owe?  Is there a positive cash flow at your house?

Financial Choices for Home

May 28, 2013 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Ten O’Clock last night became 11:00 and I think I slept while driving home.  Work was easier for me today when I fired the narrator in my head who said I should be doing something else.  Since I have been self employed most of my life, it is most challenging to be accountable to someone else for every second of my shift.

Life says it is time to STOP. Stop the stress, stop the debt, stop the world from worry.  That stop begins with me.

Picture this,  you are driving and approach a busy intersection where you note the light is red.  You don’t stop……Bang, crash bang,  The cars who had the green light hit you,  The car in back of you hits you,  it quickly becomes a major pile up.  You are killed………done for gone from this planet.   People surrounding you are injured…..

Hello,  it is the same with debt, the desire to buy for others, the longing for a big house and stuff.  I influence the opinions and actions of others.  You influence the opinions and actions of others.  I am influenced by the actions of those who are close to  me  Like the car crash,  my choice, your choice becomes a factor in the outcome of those around us.

Broke?   What will you do?   What will I do? Perhaps I will  search for a job,  use all credit cards, accept all credit offers,  take money from friends, family, borrow from friends, family,  get angry and become a victim. I will be powerful and take whatever jobs that enable me to step up from the hole I am in and see freedom.  Stop means to stop digging  hole and start living in the moment.

You can be a victim or powerful.  You can’t be both.  I may choose to be a victim or be powerful.  I can’t be both.  Today, working a job I don’t like but appreciate having is allowing me to move toward the foundation for a house that will be affordable and paid for within 5 years!   Amazing!

Will your home be paid for in 5 years?

Maybe foreclosure, fire, death, marriage, life in general hasn’t dictated to you where is home.

Perhaps you are like me, alone, family scattered to the four corners of the world and you just don’t know where to plant the tree that will grow in your yard.

For the past 15 years I have enjoyed life for the most part, seen times when I thought I saw the bottom and now just want a place to call home and someone there to share it with me.

So, let’s take this journey together.  Remember, I can call forth experiences that may help you no matter what your situation may be.  Please comment, or share your  thoughts, frustrations and victories as we journey.

Saving Home

March 20, 2013 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

It is great to share my little house vision.

Some of my friends are facing foreclosure.  As I listen to them and feel the pain they are in, it has made me stop to reflect.

Perhaps, it is time for me to pause and explore how you save the house you have when faced with foreclosure.

Obviously, when one is in trouble on a mortgage payment, it becomes difficult to think.  So, we will go through the next few post by sharing what others whom I have worked with on a one to one basis have done to change the circumstance.

Since the house payment is usually the highest payment let’s start with a decision there.

Remember the day you signed the papers to own your home?  You were filled with confidence and joy for the decision you made to enjoy the American Dream to own a home.  You “knew” you were able to afford the house because the mortgage company approved you.  Later, I want to address how an individual should decide whats affordable, but for now we will focus on what to do when you are delinquent on home payments.

Challenge Anyone?

January 15, 2013 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Yesterday,  I committed to participating in the Starting Over Challenge.  I hope you will be inspired to join.  Each of us has a story.  Chapters in life evolve with new birth, new ideas perceived success and failure.

I am full of joy and anticipation as I attempt a financial and home bound challenge to accelerate and restore a balance in life involving God, finances and home.

As far as the daily blog, I realize lots of people may read or perhaps no one will..  It is the therapy for me to write it down, share and move forward that is essential to this journey.

I have a structured plan for finances, creating the little house and an open mind and heart to accept Gods plan for me in Health and Love.

Are you with me?

Happy New Year!

It’s a new canvas.  I received the most wonderful gift for Christmas.  It is The Four Hour Chef by Tim Ferriss.  Hint:  It isn’t all about cooking.  I am motivated to accelerate in 5 areas of my life.

  1. My relationship with God
  2. Work to balance my budget
  3. Work to fund my house
  4. Start and finish building home
  5. Habits that support a balanced lifestyle!

Need a Platform or a Foundation?

December 17, 2012 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

With the year 2012 coming to an end, I want to be sure to share the resources that have inspired, taught and blessed me this year.

I am an avid student of Michael Hyatt and Ray Edwards.

Ray is a miraculous blessing for me as he is my Son, my mentor, prayer partner  and Teacher!  Read his book, Writing Riches to learn how to master your financial destiny.  I am sure my writing doesn’t reflect that I am a perfect student.  I am a work in progress!

Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World touched my soul.  Read it!

When you are inspired to say or write something that will benefit others, it’s amazing how noisy the world becomes.  Actually, I think it has always been that way, I just wasn’t conscious of the distraction until I read the book!

Get a Platform for your life and work.  Build on a solid foundation.  We will address the importance of a foundation  as related to the little house and to our spiritual growth in the very near future.

The next few days in this year allows me to pull the pieces of my blog together, much as a seamstress would join the pieces to complete a garment.

In February I will be doing a workshop for How To Build your Little House from the foundation up!

In the meantime, think about where your feet are planted at this moment.  This is your present foundation in the world.  Do you feel secure?
