Change In Life -Hail Damage Totaled My Car

September 16, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Change Happens All The Time

Hail Storm, An Act of God Changed my Direction

I had a blow out  in Montana …I blew most of the “stinking thinking” from my little head overloaded with junk! Change is inevitable. It is sort of like cleaning the refrigerator.  You know, the food gets all stinky, moldy and unhealthy after a while and it’s hard to remember it was good at one time.

Each day we make decisions.  Some days, we decide to do nothing.  Change still happens and forces us to do something. Here we go…dump this…keep that and replace bad with good.

Have you  experienced a change that forced you to make choices?  Do you constantly express a wish that things were different?  Do you foresee a change that will most likely happen in the near future?

An Act of God  changed the picture of my future within a few minutes.

The recent hail storm in Montana lasted about 15 minutes.  My beautiful, paid for car was pounded with balls of hail while my granddaughter and I rode a couple of blocks to our driveway and parked.

Combined with some other family members decisions, my entire world was hailed and rocked. If I had a big bank account, my choices would be many. Today is the day for my reality show!

Limited resources and limited options generated a few days of despair.  What’s next? Regarding money, my question is: Who says we baby boomers can’t rock the bank with money? Not with longing from an empty nest and a head full of foolishness!  Let’s clean it out!

Other storms have been screaming across the country. Hurricanes, floods, needs, health issues…so many Remember the refrigerator.  Yes, trauma  hits in the soul. I have found the antidote is to do something drastically different.

Select something to replace loss, grief or Disneyland thinking. Change includes motion, mindset, assessing the situation and possible future results. Remember the refrigerator.

Start first with Gratitude. I am thankful Eliana and I were not injured in the storm.

What Did the Storm Make Possible?

Immediate  Positive Emotional Change Was Possible

Desires and intentions:   I want  a paid for home, money in the bank, good health care…and I want to share my good finds with you and have money to give to those I love.

Actions:   My car was cosmetically damaged from the hail storm.  It did not break any of the windows.. Every time I look at it, I think how the storms in life leave scars and dents on our body, our mind, and pound away at our dreams and plans. Some storms leave physical challenges that are difficult to overcome. Do we then act or react?

From my comfort zone, it broke my heart to look at the damage to my car.  In less than 15

Act of God

Hail Damage

minutes the prime value was deflated to salvage.

The storm reminded me a health diagnosis can change all plans immediately.  Losing a job can take away the security of an unpaid for home.

Action:  Change for me involves taking one step at a time in the right direction.  I will not embrace the insurance evaluation and request  the car be declared totaled given a low settlement amount and release the title to them.  Like sheep, many people did.

Trouble changes our mindset. Victory, the car’s name, was changed to Salvage by the insurance company.  I rescued her and changed her back to “Victory Rescued”. Next, a brief trip to the DMV  to renew my tags validated my assessment.  The DMV did not reflect a salvage title, only a notation of hail damage.

Thank you God for the paid for car I drive. Later, it will be rescued by someone else in need of a gently used vehicle. What will I do to make the car valuable?

A real estate appraisal determines value based on the highest and best use.  What does this act of nature do to the primary use of my car?

Salvage ... It’s a powerful word. So, I will have a Salvage sale.   No, not to sell the car, but to use it for space to display my rescued items!

Where will I find positive motivation and creative ideas to encourage me?  Not from the hundreds of people acting like sheep and just accepting a check from the insurance company. Then they leave to purchase another card  and possibly create another debt.

My Answer:  From the Episodes of the Undercover Billionaire, I  connected to his story and have set aside $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars) to launch my business. My goal is to do what it takes to generate $25,000 by January 1, 2020. From the insurance proceeds I paid in full several small debts, retained a $1,000.00 emergency fund and embraced an urgent vision to implement.

Action:  My first activity, a Trunk Salvage Sale, will happen this coming week and will  officially open the business,  Go forth and Prosper. Making money from home, my car, and where ever I happen to reside.

Tonight, we will see a beautiful Harvest Moon! I will harvest the rescued salvage I own, call forth the knowledge and wisdom to rescue the legacy my family deserves. It’s a great feeling  knowing my recent  sorting Trash or Treasure fits right in this picture.

Today, I will clean the car and prepare it for a trunk salvage sale.  Secondly, I will order some supplies for my online presence sharing how to generate money from anywhere.

Start Your Life Change Here

Tip number 1 :  Love Amazon. With a prime membership, you may order and get free delivery within a day.  You will pay for a membership. The first few delivered orders will cover the cost of the membership. I document the savings and pleasure from my membership.

Action:  You want to buy a gift for someone miles away, so you get in the car, go to a store, buy a gift, stop to get some wrapping paper, go home make the package and then off to the post office to mail.

You just spent money on gas, the gift, paper and supplies to wrap, and postage. You probably maneuvered the traffic came back feeling good, but tired.

Change Action to:  Shop Amazon, Choose your gift ….add the recipient’s address, pay (usually less than the store) and away it goes.  Want it wrapped? Include a gift bag and card!

My order today will include a couple of things for my mobile office, some cosmetic supplies and I will choose an audio book (free for the first two) all from my kitchen table!

Just for fun, I challenge you to document what you buy for the next week. Then using your receipts, look up the items on Amazon. Wouldn’t it be worth it to order online, save money, and have them delivered? You’ll feel like a queen (or King)!

My shopping list for Amazon:

Go forth and Prosper

See you soon.

Summer Don’t Leave

September 3, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

End of August Brings End of Summer

August 29th.

So much has happened since August 3rd, when I last posted on the blog.  I was getting my car service that day. I recall a warm memory at that time thinking I had taken good care of the car, no wrecks or dents and it would last me a long time! The odometer registered 121,000 miles. I had personally driven at least 118,000 of them.

And Then…

Later in the month, Mother nature paid a visit and rained hail!  My granddaughter and I were riding in the car when the storm started.  It sounded like construction workers pounding on the roof.

We pulled into a drive way and turned the music up loud. In less than 12 minutes the storm was over!

According to the insurance company my car is totaled. I disagreed.

It’s no longer beautiful;  however, it did not affect the driving capabilities.  I opted to keep the car. I  relinquished some of the payment from them.  In essence, I bought the car back.

I am pleased. If you recall, the cars name was Victory.  Should I change her name to Strawberry?  She looks like strawberries without the little black dots!

A friend and I plan to drive her to the South before Winter.  Maybe I should keep it Southern and Call her “Strawberry Victory”!  What do you think?

In the coming week, I will wash and wax her and clean the inside.  Somewhere in the near future, another car awaits. For now, I don’t have a payment.  The car is a constant reminder life’s storms leave scars and dents, but don’t prohibit us from moving forward.

Victory   or   Strawberry?

Stress Takes a Toll on Health

When the hail pounded down, a sense of fear entered.  For several nights, I would awaken dreading the weather.  Next, dealing with the insurance company and agreeing to disagree magnified the situation. Lack of sleep, combined with trauma during the storm drained my energy and my ability to focus.

I consoled myself with food.  Comfort foods and  too many rich meals  resulted in only a 5 pound weight loss.

Weight loss goal was not met and I didn’t feel the best. It was time for some personal attention.

Getting Better

Meditation moments with God, visits to the chiropractor, sprinkled with moments of laughter and taking vitamins turned it around!

I actually shopped 3 different venues for  vitamins.  First, I considered the ones offered at the chiropractic office. Then, shopped the local health food store. Finally, I visited the local natural foods store. Prices differed with each store.

Next, I checked to see if Amazon offered the ones I wanted. Yes, they did at a better price. I ordered and received them the next day.

Many times Amazon Prime is a money saver. This is the bottle of vitamins I ordered from them and they were delivered with shipping cost covered by my membership.

Today is Beauty day.  I am taking my granddaughter to get a manicure.  Tomorrow, it will be my turn for a manicure.  The weather is beautiful.  Just a scent of Fall is in the air, a sad reminder that summer is almost gone. Amazon finds are shared with you and manicure is done!

In the meantime let’s,

Go forth and prosper

Enjoy your day,

Hello August!

August 3, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Hello August!

I have plans for you!

This year has been an uphill climb for me.  Unfortunately, I don’t do real well climbing heights.  So, I didn’t reach the top.  Several goals hang in the balance. I needed a shocking jump start.

Last week I had my car serviced. While I was waiting, I browsed the showroom and looked at the beautiful Challenger …priced somewhere in the $70,000 range.

The V8 is  mated to an eight-speed transmission. Performance rocks a top speed of 203 mph. For those of you who know me, you know I love a fast muscle car.

WARNING!  I am entering August as though it is a race car. I plan a fast ride!   August is our month to pull it together.  What does that mean for you?

Acceleration Plan for August

New content is prepared for this blog. New opportunities for you to save, reach your goals and prosper will be available.  Categories will change promoting quick access to resources for prosperous living essentials, travel and fun.

Wise ideas for your home, health and wealth await you.

Little gifts may arrive at unexpected times.  Recently, I learned the value of unexpected gifts!

A friend of mine who lives in Charlotte surprised me with a gift box.  She called it a fun box.  It was fun to open it, get presents when it wasn’t any “special occasion”  just a thought of love.  Although, she hasn’t met my granddaughter, Eliana, she included gifts for her.  Eliana and I have used and enjoyed the gifts many times.

Love Looks Like This

.

We had a breakfast date and opened our fun box.  It was like Christmas in July.

I want to be a copycat and send some fun boxes to those who would not ever expect one. Visit with me each day and we will go on a prosperous journey.

For now, it is time to say goodnight.  Tomorrow starts a new day.  Let’s

Goforth and Prosper,

 Have fun!

Trash or Treasure In Storage

May 10, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Trash or Treasure, You decide

My Clean up-Scavenger Hunt

I have trash and treasures stored in a rented building.

Have you ever watched one of the shows where the people are hoarders? I have watched and always find myself critical.  It seems to me they should immediately throw trash away before it rents space in their home.  I rented a storage unit for my trash and treasures.

When I moved from a big house, I sold massive and beautiful pieces of furniture. Wow! Eliminating the big pieces made me feel I had managed quiet well. I kept the things I planned to use. They needed a place to live for awhile, so I rented a storage building.

Storage Building

Monday, I worked in my storage building.  My plan was to  remove all trash  and be ready to keep or give some  treasures.  The building is full and I thought it was organized. It is a mess.  My treasures and trash have resided there for over 4 years!

Hours later, hot and dirty, I left.  Did I make progress? Yes, but it just cleared the surface.  Unfortunately, every container demanded my hands and eyes in order to  find my own treasures and discard the rest.  Cleanup will take  a few days.

What is in My Storage?

If you are considering downsizing or just plain tidying up, let me share my story with you:

In the storage building there are 5 huge  boxes of paper. Yep, paper.  Granted some papers and files were supposed to be kept for 3 years. They have lived in storage for 4 years. Therefore, they are destined to become  a beautiful burn pile.

Next, a friend had given me a neat  two drawer file cabinet. I was sure I could spray paint it and use it someday. Reluctantly, I put it on the list of my Trash. A beautiful bookcase with the flimsy back off stood against the wall. To repair, the back board needs to be attached.  In addition,  the shelves are somewhere in the building.  The complete bookcase will be my trash and someones treasure.

Where do Treasures Hide

Once in Marble, N.C. a wise gentleman stopped along the side of the road where a couch was thrown away. Popping out his knife, he began to slash the arms and low and behold, little coins and some dollars fell out.  He said old couches were banks for money. Now, I look for money in things I love.

I love little jars.  Spice jars, jelly jars, jars with sauce any little jars. So, it was no surprise,  money was sleeping in a spice jar.

Treasures Hide In Memories

Memories are most important.  Every penny I paid for  storage was well spent because  hundreds of pictures, some in albums and some loose are there. I found $17.00 in this bottle!

My Mother’s Bible…worn and with a little kleenex is in a container.  I know she would have it open to some scripture maybe this one…..

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.’ So God granted him what he requested.”   1 Chronicles 4:10

Oh, her picture is there and while thinking of her, I could smell her perfume.

Proof of family time came in the form of pictures, old school certificates and plane tickets. Yes, I confess, so much useless paper like used plane tickets, receipts, old unread magazines and stuff all over the place.

Toward the end of my packing career, I put some things in cardboard boxes.  Don’t use cardboard boxes.  They draw moisture, odor and if you don’t use some type of bug spray the bugs will take residence in them.’

Do I recommend Purging?  Yes!

Purging is a physical detox.  Finally, you let go of “stuff” that once held importance.

Now, be honest…as spring comes to a close, isn’t there something in your house that needs to claim the garbage can as home?  While doing your spring cleaning maybe you would like to do what I did…

I cleared some cobwebs from my mind by throwing away newspaper articles, some greeting cards (well, I couldn’t part with all of them)  tickets to events, and just random notes. Other things, I will not use immediately, will become someone else’s treasure.

The future awaits the arrival of my Treasures and …..some lucky person will eagerly accept my Trash. Possible treasures include a keyboard, ironing board, iron, extra set of dishes, some random cookware and jars, and bottles and glasses! Oh, there is a bookcase, many books, new shoes and lots more.

Christmas items and other holiday decor is stored.

Key question to ask when determining Trash or Treasure is:  Can it be replaced?  Any Yes, designated the item for the Trash.   What causes things to become a burden?  Life happenings create change and eliminate needs. So, divorce, death, end of a season of friendship, maturity, or just plain obsolete things become a burden.

Instead of paying storage on things I have no desire to keep, I have a disposal plan. I will post an ad…offering to gift great things, awful things and necessary home items to some lucky person…Come and get it for $25.00. The catch is you must take my  Trash as well as your Treasure find!

Want to come to my scavenger hunt?  Come on, it’s in the beautiful State of Tennessee!  Let’s

Go forth and Prosper

Words to Declare Life & Prosperity

April 19, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Words of Life and Prosperity

Depositing Words into My Word Bank

From the first of April until the 15th, I made the following word withdrawals from my word bank:

God, Aware, Be, Connect, Do, Educate, Finish, Joy, Kind, Mission, Learn, Play, Quit

Taking Action

Now, the fun has started!  The first day was easy, I concentrated on everything I could think of God had provided. The  word Aware was the beginning as I had to be aware of the wonderful things God had done.  Day two added the word Be and  I continue to deposit one word each day.  Now, I  have 17 words (only 13 listed here)

Results

The energy in my body has shifted, my activities have changed!  This is working.  My days look like this:

Good Morning, Monday…   Good Morning God, Good Morning Jesus, Holy Spirit reside in me today!  I trust this day finds you happy and whole with peace in your Soul!

Outside the kitchen window the sky is a palette of dark clouds, sprinkled with some light shining through, projecting an array of gray, a hue of yellow, platters of white and little holes showing the blue sky.

Today,  I will rise above the clouds to have a smooth and productive ride.

Since my visit with sickness a couple of weeks ago, I am aware to be thankful each hour and for each breath I take.  I see the beauty in little things that are miraculous. Last week, I watched tiny little shoots on the tree become buds and this morning they are transformed to little leaves. God paints a gorgeous picture.

Aware is my most impactful word leading to changes in my thoughts and actions.

Specific Focus

Projects called forth by being acutely aware of each action for prosperity even as my soul prospers are as follows:

Health:  I am taking vitamins, drinking apple cider with lemon and hot water daily, walking a bit further each day, reading and enjoying family and rest! I weigh daily to keep me aware of mindful eating. The doctor asked me to quit drinking coffee.

Financial:  developing instruction courses to guide others to prosperity.  The courses will provide income for me. Some of the books and materials will make my writing defined and encourage connection.

Education:  Completing classes I purchased from Crystal Paine, the Money Saving Mom.  So far, I have taking her Blogging class, Make over your Mornings and Email. These are to increase my skills to make money on-line.

Are you interested in learning? Stay tuned for a complete blog with information how to start.

Learning to speak and write concisely,  declaring what I mean and meaning what I say.

Reading:  Eats Shoots and Leaves, by Lynne Truss.  She opens the book with the following illustration:

A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the other patrons.”Why?” asks a confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

“Well, I’m a panda,” he says. “Look it up.”    Sure enough a panda eats shoots and leaves.

Read my review for Eating Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss on my resource page.

Finally, my job is to be Aware of my written and spoken words.  All other tasks find their place.  The end of April, I will share with you the changes resulting from speaking  and writing well-chosen words!

How about you? Are your words creating life and prosperity?  Let’s

Prosperous Life Words

April 8, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

WITHDRAW A WORD EACH DAY,

DEPOSIT IT AGAIN WITH INTEREST

April 2019 LIFE BANK  Go forth &  Prosper
1. Aware 8. Habit 15 Opportunity 22 Value
2. Be 9. Identify 16 Play 23 Weight
3. Connect 10. Joy 17 Quit 24 Xero-hero
4. D0 11. Kind 18 Responsible 25 Yes
5. Educate 12. Learn 19 Seize 26 Zoom
6. Finish 13. Mission 20 Teach
7. God 14. No 21 Unleash

This is the master word bank for the month of April , 2019.  Each day, I withdraw one word and focus on it constantly.  At the end of 26 days, I will have internalized and applied the actions of 26 life-giving words.  I expect great changes when the words of my tongue call forth life.

I remember being excited when each of my sons spoke their first word.  Of course, it was Mama.  Well, maybe not, perhaps my memory is selective.  Whey my oldest son was 11 our neighbor was a language Professor. She introduced the action of rewarding each new word by putting a nickel into their word bank!

Words increase each year.  Phrases like “This is killing me.”  “I can’t.”   “I am dying to know.”  These are not examples of true and powerful statements.  Yet, once verbalized, we internalize them and they become real.  Guess what?

I went to the Urgent Care facility 2 weeks ago and the Dr. said you have pneumonia.  You can’t play with this.  It is deadly.  Well, if I didn’t feel near death when I went in, I sure felt it when I left. Death became real to me.  Fear gripped the little lung power I had left. Ouch!

The Bible gives us specific instructions for our words.

Proverbs 31:26    She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Psalm 141:3  Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.

There are hundreds of scriptures instructing us how to speak.  Like mindless eating, I find my words to be lacking substance during the past 3 years.  Today it’s back to basics, learning words of life and internalizing them in my soul.  I will share with you how my progress goes!

When we journey into May, some words will change.  My key word for this year is Aware.   Awareness connects with every word in the word bank.  I must be aware of what I  say, do, think, see, hear, and touch.

How is the health of your mouth today?  It’s time to live,

Go Forth & Prosper,

Spring into Spring With My ABC’s

March 2, 2019 by Molinda Goforth 2 Comments

My Daily Word Bank Created from ABC’s

26 Days To a Transformed Me.

March 1,2019

Words…….For 26 Days in March one verb will be assigned to each day. .  I started this last year and have acquired a happier mind-set and become a bit more productive.  Now, I declare to dive into these words, never missing an assignment for this month. At the end of March I will share the results with you!

April will continue with 26 additional words!

Results I anticipate:  to love more deeply, to weigh less, release from

attachments that have held me captive and overall,  share  joy and love life!

Seven Assigned Verbs for March 1st – 7th

  1. Awareness

  2. Beautiful

  3. Cook

  4. Dance

  5. Educate

  6. Finish

  7. Giggle

How will I dive into Awareness?

Note to self:  Today, I am aware of my greeting God each morning.

It refreshes my soul to step outside and give Him thanks for the weather, especially for allowing me to be back in the South, where the rain is pouring and it is well above zero. I speak to God first thing each morning give thanks for a new day and answered prayers.

I am aware of the different smell of the air while  surrounded by the mountains where I grew up. With sadness, I am aware how many people are homeless here. They gather in front of the public library, smoking something, dirty and looking hungry. What can I do to make things a bit better for them?

Tomorrow, I may ask if I can put a little Easter basket in front of the library where they gather. I could include some crackers and sample soap collected from travel…I am not sure of my required action here. I am sure I am aware they need help and love…and I will do something.  Please share suggestions.

Carried over from last year is excess body weight.  Each day the word Awareness will be part of my 26 day activity. I declare to be aware of each bite I eat, to give thanks for food when I am hungry,  delete mindless eating and to drink water and more water.

Storage building….my Trash and Treasures live here.  For the past 3 years, I have constantly carried this fact as a Burden….Last week, I walked into the damp unit and thanked God the flood waters did not intrude.  I gave thanks for each item in the building. I am aware each day my assignment is to delete an item from the building.  That means 7 items will be deleted this week.  Clothing, no matter how many pieces counts as one item.

Since the building is 45 minutes away, I will make a list of the deleted items and ones to be deleted. For this week, seven items are designated to find a new home. Now, the new home may be the trash can. ……tomorrow will include pictures of the 7 items going away!

Picture of the conglomerate of Trash and Treasure……

What a Mess! More was outside the unit!

Two more actions are required each day.  The first is to honor the boundaries I set the last month. This takes intentional concentration, as it includes a detachment from those with conversations not fitting inside my fence.

Second additional action for Awareness:  my finances and budget.  I must work in my business not on it this month! I expect this action will improve my bank balance.

For now,  let’s

My Eulogy A Living Celebration of Life

February 2, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

I Am Not Dead Yet

My Living Celebration of Life

My writing assignment in my 500 words today is to write my own eulogy.  This seemed like an easy task  until I started writing.

What will I say about me?  I don’t especially want to share the orphan spirit I received as an abandoned baby.  Oh, and definitely not the “failed” marriages. I haven’t read epitaph saying the person was  insecure, afraid, a failure or something negative. I shall write all good things about me.

I struggle to write my eulogy in present time. If this eulogy becomes real today, remember I have experienced a wonderful life.  Most of my dreams have come true. It’s difficult to write it as though I am not living and say what I wish you would say about me.

I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, grew up in Kentucky.  Apparently, I have some gypsy DNA because I love road trips, long and short.

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of growing up and becoming a Mom.  Now, three sons later, 2 daughter in-laws, and 3 grandchildren those  dreams are true.  Most of my relatives owned their own business: I wanted one. I enjoyed over 20 years as a Real Estate Broker, selling homes in  5 states, owning 3 agencies and training more than 40 agents.

I played music…music in church, at parties and more in church. I wrote  a course for others to learn to play the piano by ear.  Music was more than a hobby, it was my gift of  joy and peace.

Life Highlights

  • Christian, Christ Follower

  • Mother

  • Grandmother

  • Friend

  • Traveler    25 States and Dominica, Paris, Bahama’s, St. John, St. Martin, and Canada.  I traveled many trips alone.

  • Successful career, selling residential homes

  • Talented to play the piano and guitar

  • Hobbies  Read, sew, search for bargains,

Until now, I am blessed with the results of  many mistakes, a lot of things done right, many were wrong.. I have the wisdom to know the difference.  This assignment is challenging.  I would like my eulogy to be more stellar, say something definite about my contributions. It’s time for me to Go Forth and do more giving and more living to document an acceptable eulogy.

How about you?  I challenge you to write your eulogy now and have read the way you want it too!

For now,  From the album Gods Problem Child Willie Nelson sings

During my years of real life, I have learned much about downsizing, removing clutter from my mind and surroundings. I try to surround myself with people smarter than me.

There you go.  I have lived long enough to be dead.  God has a reason for me to be here.  I believe I know my purpose and will go forth and do my best intentionally to fulfill it.  Join me, write your eulogy, share it and then  let’s

Go Forth and Prosper,

Choose Hope

January 28, 2019 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

It’s Winter!  New Years resolutions in 2018 included leaving Montana.  I declared  to never stay here during another winter. I said God, please let me live to leave this cold place and put me where it is warm.  God answered my prayer. I enjoyed a wonderful road trip  with family to the East coast.  I stayed.

The last of October, I flew back for my son’s birthday and my granddaughters birthday. A slight accident resulted in my return ticket South unaccompanied.  God has an interesting sense of humor.  It is now January and I am still in cold Montana.  Surprise, I have enjoyed being here.

Winter was mild until last week.  Now, a white heavy blanket of snow covers the ground.  The blue sky is covered with white and gray clouds. Temperatures of Zero have graced us with wind chill down to 22 below. My time alone with God and nature has been a pleasure.

I found love in knowing how to get from here to there, nurturing and deepening friendships,  and becoming a part of the church here.  Love brings warmth when the temperatures dip below zero.

My hour of the day comes early in the morning when I write and write…. Sometimes  scattered memories flood the page, sometimes words of love.  Everyday is a new picture. Morning times are best because the page is blank and words paint my stage for the day.

Hope is the word for today.  What pictures flash before me when I think of hope? Memories of childhood and a cedar Hope Chest…filled with grown up clothes, poems of love, hand-made quilts for my future home.   Sadly, the Hope Chest floated away in the flood which rampaged like a train off track through our little town. Sadness was absorbed by Hope for a better day.

For months after the flood, I would panic in North Carolina when the tropical storms rolled in.  One sleepless night I randomly opened my Bible and my eyes fell to scripture written, ” Let the floods clap their hands; Let the mountains sing for joy together; ”   Psalms 98:8.   I welcomed Hope for the songs of Joy and clapping of hands in the scripture.

Hope….my precious sister-cousin longed for a baby.  She was diabetic and the Doctor said it would Never happen.  For several years she exercised Hope that someday….. The day came! She gave birth to a precious little girl.  What was her name? You know it: Hope!

When illness, death or devastation pays me a personal visit. I call forth Hope.  Many of my friends have left earth and I believe they are in the presence of God.  I find comfort being grounded in this knowing, Is it okay to cry during grief?  Yes, Jesus wept.

Hope, Because He Lives

On Easter morning in Kentucky , I would drive to the top of  Pinnacle for  sunrise service .  In the heavy early morning fog on top of the mountain,  we would sing Because He Lives and joy would dance with those gathered.

Now, approaching the last season of my life, I embrace the word, Hope, for our country, our nation, my family and yours. I hope to have the courage to share the life experiences and knowledge to bless you and open doors of thought and opportunity for you.  I hope I can teach my grandchildren to enjoy life here, embrace the storms and Know we are safe in the arms of God.

Songs have replaced grief, anger,  lack, and filled my soul with joy for most of my life. In times like these, I  escape into the lyrics…you can too!  Health, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are our promises from God.

It’s easy to get sidetracked to absorb the unpleasant news of turmoil.  It’s also easy to return to the Father.  We don’t have to start over.  He meets us where we are.  God isn’t bankrupt.  His Kingdom isn’t shut down!  He has a plan for my life and a plan for yours.

Choose Hope!

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. … Proverbs 13:12

My first trip to Billings was around 12 years ago. Willie Nelson was playing a concert here.  I love Willie Nelson.   Apparently he had been ill and the Doctor suggested he take life a bit slower, stop singing so much. He made a declaration he would Never stop singing and ended his concert with this song:

In closing, let me share, when the roll is called up yonder, my reservations are made.  I’ll be there.  For the remainder of my time here, I will share my talents with you and let’s make them multiply, let us have fun, play in the snow or sun and

Go Forth and Prosper,

Molinda Sue
