Hello July, I love you.

Molinda Goforth

Hello July!  I love you July.  I love July 4th!  I look forward to this  weekend filled with good food, fireworks, laughter and family. I give thanks for my health, for the opportunities to improve life and grateful for the love of family.

Our year is half over.  Although, I have accomplished some goals, the big rocks are out of the jar and nothing has been done.  My foot is a big problem and must be improved.  Will that improvement happen in Billings or in Tennessee?

Am I happy and healthy today?  Yes and no. I scheduled an appointment with a highly recommended surgeon for an additional opinion regarding my foot.  The acquired deformity gets worse each day.

My appointment with the surgeon is  Tuesday, July 7th.  His opinion will be the third one.  It may confirm what two other Doctors have said and lead me back to the South for the surgery. It may contain a message of hope and success here.

I have an appointment scheduled at Duke in North Carolina for August 2nd.  The happy news is I am being proactive to search for help!  God tells us to seek and we shall find.

Where would I stay if I have surgery here?  I want to return to full time in Real Estate.  Some important choices are visible.

There is an apartment in Billings that would be a perfect recovery space.  It is new, affordable, and  7 minutes from my son’s home.  I stopped by there today and let the manager know it will be next Wednesday when I can confirm or decline her offer.

Preparing to Go Home to Tennessee

Next, I completed an online class for  Real Estate in Tennessee.  In the month of June I did 15 continuing education hours and will do 6 more in the next week. My heart beats with Joy when I think of being home in Tennessee and helping others find home.

One More Incident for today

With scattered thoughts stretching from the East to the West, I drove toward my Sons house. On the way, I received a call from Kentucky.  My Brother is listed in critical care in the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

He has stage 4 Cancer.  I want to see him! The onset appeared to be sudden and the cancer is very aggressive.

This week will continue to be busy.  Several things must be completed within the next two weeks in preparation for the trip to Tennessee or staying here. Prayers for my brother and the desire to see him tops the list.

Finally The Day’s Activities End…

The day wasn’t over.  I stopped at the Wells Fargo ATM and it said:  “You haven’t finished your last transaction, would you like to continue?”  I pushed No…and the previous customers card popped half way out.  I waited..and the ATM read:  Please remove your card or it will return to the ATM in 20 seconds.  I waited and the ATM sucked it up!

I had almost finished my transaction when a cool looking guy on a motorcycle whirled up beside my car.  I asked him if he had visited this ATM in the last few minutes.  He was the Owner of that Card!  He laughed and said, no problem I will come by tomorrow and get another one.

Prayers appreciated.

Warm regards,

Molinda Sue

Summer Don’t Leave

End of August Brings End of Summer

August 29th.

So much has happened since August 3rd, when I last posted on the blog.  I was getting my car service that day. I recall a warm memory at that time thinking I had taken good care of the car, no wrecks or dents and it would last me a long time! The odometer registered 121,000 miles. I had personally driven at least 118,000 of them.

And Then…

Later in the month, Mother nature paid a visit and rained hail!  My granddaughter and I were riding in the car when the storm started.  It sounded like construction workers pounding on the roof.

We pulled into a drive way and turned the music up loud. In less than 12 minutes the storm was over!

According to the insurance company my car is totaled. I disagreed.

It’s no longer beautiful;  however, it did not affect the driving capabilities.  I opted to keep the car. I  relinquished some of the payment from them.  In essence, I bought the car back.

I am pleased. If you recall, the cars name was Victory.  Should I change her name to Strawberry?  She looks like strawberries without the little black dots!

A friend and I plan to drive her to the South before Winter.  Maybe I should keep it Southern and Call her “Strawberry Victory”!  What do you think?

In the coming week, I will wash and wax her and clean the inside.  Somewhere in the near future, another car awaits. For now, I don’t have a payment.  The car is a constant reminder life’s storms leave scars and dents, but don’t prohibit us from moving forward.

Victory   or   Strawberry?

Stress Takes a Toll on Health

When the hail pounded down, a sense of fear entered.  For several nights, I would awaken dreading the weather.  Next, dealing with the insurance company and agreeing to disagree magnified the situation. Lack of sleep, combined with trauma during the storm drained my energy and my ability to focus.

I consoled myself with food.  Comfort foods and  too many rich meals  resulted in only a 5 pound weight loss.

Weight loss goal was not met and I didn’t feel the best. It was time for some personal attention.

Getting Better

Meditation moments with God, visits to the chiropractor, sprinkled with moments of laughter and taking vitamins turned it around!

I actually shopped 3 different venues for  vitamins.  First, I considered the ones offered at the chiropractic office. Then, shopped the local health food store. Finally, I visited the local natural foods store. Prices differed with each store.

Next, I checked to see if Amazon offered the ones I wanted. Yes, they did at a better price. I ordered and received them the next day.

Many times Amazon Prime is a money saver. This is the bottle of vitamins I ordered from them and they were delivered with shipping cost covered by my membership.

Today is Beauty day.  I am taking my granddaughter to get a manicure.  Tomorrow, it will be my turn for a manicure.  The weather is beautiful.  Just a scent of Fall is in the air, a sad reminder that summer is almost gone. Amazon finds are shared with you and manicure is done!

In the meantime let’s,

Go forth and prosper

Enjoy your day,

Your House Payment Is Late!

April 3, 2013 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

I have been there, felt that pain, wore that tee shirt.  Your house payment is late.

How does this picture go?  Within a day or two you will start getting calls from the lender.  Remember, you are the servant.

Actually though, if you haven’t made the payment within 30 days on the 31st day you become one over 30 on your credit report.  If you had made a partial payment as we noted last time you could make the other half and late fees and start over with the late process.

Continue on, making other bills other than the house payment and one month turns to two then you are in a critical stage because at 30 over 30 days late foreclosure becomes real.

From observation, I have notice the first thing on a troubled home owners mind is to borrow the path out of debt.  Once a house payment is documented as late, it is almost impossible to refinance.

What are some options to do during troubled times to avoid this train wreck?
