Happy Healthy Monday!

June 2, 2020 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

It’s Healthy, Happy Monday.

What is on my menu today?

Molinda Goforth

Comfort food is on my menu. Pinto Beans and Southern corn bread with side toppings of cheese, onions and chow-chow.

I’m tired, weak and a bit weary.  The stay at home sentence doesn’t flatter me.  The violence and constant news just sucks my entire being into the midst and I feel exhausted. This week I will refrain from listening or watching the news.

My 12 year old granddaughter was here during the weekend.  Saturday night, she awakened during the wee hours of morning with a situation that made her very uncomfortable and afraid.  She said, ” I miss my Mom.”  Her tone just shattered my heart.  I felt her longing.  Her Mom works 12 hour days during weekends, and would have been sleeping. Still, I wished I could take her to her Mom.

Instead, I said I miss my Mom too.  We talked and told stories of past experiences that were fun.  We said a prayer for safety and contentment. Soon, she fell asleep.  I pondered the statement, “I miss my Mom.”  Actually, I missed my Mother.

Names, one day soon we will talk about names.  I don’t remember when I learned the word Mother.  I never knew the word Mom or Mama. From my experience, when we attach labels to people and they lean into the label.  Mother loved me, made me feel safe and protected.

A virus that carries the threat of death, Violence, the news commentators just rally between the two stories.  My beloved Nashville was ringing with sirens, police destruction, while I was safe in Montana.

I pray for those who are hurting.  It is my duty to serve peace and love at home. I will meditate the scriptures written in Psalms 91.  This week I am reading:  Finding Hope In Crazy Times.

Song for this Week

Dionne Warwick – What The World Needs Now (1966)

It’s a new day, the beginning of a new month!  Ironically, it is the beginning of Summer….a different season. For our menu, let’s cook good food, sow seeds of kindness and let’s

Spotlight on Me

Personal Up-date

Health, Wealth and Prosperity

It is a beautiful Day in Billings, Montana. Today is sunny.

Molinda E.Goforth

The view from my window is incredible this morning.  I love to see the sun rise, the different colors that fill the sky and messages for the day. Today the sunrise was red…“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning”   According to folk lore, the red sky carries much moisture, so something may be on the way……

Health

No matter how much I verbalize that the weather doesn’t affect my health, I am lying.  Warm sunshine agrees with my soul and bones. A priority with me must be to generate the funds to live where I am more comfortable.

My health is at the top of my list.  For the second time ever, I had a scare and an unpleasant Urgent Doctors Report. The ten days following, I basically consumed a liquid diet and antibiotics. Before my follow up visit, I will consume items from the Health Food Store, lots of Water and monitor how I feel.

For the past week, my staples were:

             Supplements were included.

Next week,  I will include some fruit and a a couple bland vegetables.  Spices will not be included.

Good Health means looking good.  Two weeks ago, my friends were saying, “You look so tired.” More comments like,  “Are you sick?”  ” Haven’t you been sleeping well? “

These aren’t the comments I want to hear.  It’s time for active change.

This afternoon, I have an appointment to get my hair done! Next I will hear:   “Looking good this weekend! ”  How about you?  What are your friends and family saying about you?

Time for Exercise

Loving my Apple watch to keep track of what I am really doing.  Sad, I can’t bear to share this week, because it was close to Nothing!

Monday, I have an appointment to visit a health facility with a warm water pool, hot tub and of course the usual machines for exercise.  Lord Help me to pay attention.

Finances

Streams of Income are on my vision board and now beginning to flow into my bank account.  It’s exciting to share with you the things I have learned and am learning to make life more abundant and prosperous.

The affiliate links you find in this post, may generate  income for me if you purchase.  Thank you for considering and know I am using each item posted here.

One of the ways to earn while you learn is to share affiliate links from your online presence.

Today, I am revisiting the lessons I Learned from Connie Green and haven’t begun to completely implement.  Connie is amazing.

My Foundation

Most important is my foundation with God.  Greeting Him the first thing each morning and inviting the Holy Spirit to Guide My day through the Valleys and let me hit the Highs with Hinds Feet.   My  scripture this week is:

Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Thank you for visiting with me, Let’s

My ABC’s Today is F

My ABC’s

F… Day 6 My Definitions for verbs starting with F

F – Music Note:  Music notes are named after the first seven letters of the alphabet: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. After tomorrow, my ABC’s won’t introduce the day’s activity.  It’s been enlightening to call to my attention the different sounds of music.

Verbs to live into this day are:

F- Finish:  Life! Living life each day to the fullest, without regret when it’s time to call it finished.

F – Food:  I am aware I left the joy of food at several fast food stops along the way.  You know the drill, late for work, grab a cup of coffee, no time for lunch, eat greasy french fries hot and loaded with Salt, exhausted for dinner, grab a great fast food sandwich on the way home and finish with a bowl of sugary cereal before bedtime.  This week, I have focused on a simple ingredient…water.

F – Finances:  This one hurts.  My money is financed, not invested.  Daily action to delete the credit is essential. I have the plan for freedom outlined.

F – Fun:  Designated fun time allowing for creative thoughts, play with children, revisit and welcome imagination.

F – Fast:  Slow down and let the good times last.  Last week my heart rate was so high, it frightened me.  I went to see a Nauropath and it concerned her to the point she recommended I see a Cardiologist.  Actually, I withdrew, had a close communion with God and made a commitment to slow down, enjoy life, food, health and home. I am blessed! My heart rate is normal today.

My ABC’s this week highlight music and it’s importance in my life.  I recall hearing several people say, I wish I could play an instrument. All I can play is the radio.  Well, if you are one of those, good for you. Play the radio and enjoy. If you really want to play an instrument, stop wishing and learn to play.

In the Bible we read,  Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

I have fasted from all News this week, weather, political, fake and real, just living my life in my space and determined to do a kind deed each day for someone.

I learned to strum the guitar when I was six.  The big Gibson my dad owned was much bigger than me.  I loved to feel the strings, the different textures, and sounds they made.  In my teens, I could play rhythm guitar well and the piano, an organ and the symbols.  Yep, sometimes it was just a joyful noise. It’s important to listen…. lets revisit the scripture.

He asks us to Make A Joyful Noise Unto the Lord…..come before his presence with Singing.

Sing happy and good songs. Play what you can, you can always play the spoons! Smile and be happy. Tomorrow, we will celebrate the Lord’s day and

My ABC’s Today is C

July 6, 2018 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

My ABC’s

C… Day 3  My Definitions for verbs starting with C

Surprise!  It is a music note! Let’s sing success.

C is the first note of the C major scale, the third note of the A minor scale and the fourth note (F, A, B, C) of the Guidonian hand.

All of the above information seems very technical.  When I was a little girl, I learned the sounds of each note and to this day I identify the key a song is played  in by those sounds. Someday, perhaps we can discuss chords, not just notes.

Isn’t it fun to bring music into each day?

C – Bank Note   a 100-dollar bill. See C–note defined for English-language learners. My action for the letter C is to generate a $100.00 before the first of August.

C – Calm:  The past week my heart has played the part of a race car, rhythm far too fast.  I found a meditation for the heart. While listening, my heart rate slowed to the beat. I entered a calm serene state of being! It was healing to visit this place.

C – Celebrate:  Each day I will celebrate something that gives me pleasure.

C – Comfort:  Many of my friends say they feel comforted when we talk.  I thank God for those comments.  With an act of kindness, I will intentionally comfort someone each day.

C – Cook:  I have just completed a course from the Masters with Gordon Ramsey, teaching cooking! I fully intend to pursue more classes and make each meal a Celebration.

As you can see, many action words are associated with the Letter C in my world. One of the most important is:

C – Can: Philippians 4:13 New King James Version (NKJV). 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Each letter added from the alphabet will include more action on my part.  This is a month of transformation, establishing patterns to become habits and insure I live life to the fullest.  I Can do these things.

Three days into the design of this series and I feel a shift in my thoughts.  I am so excited to know what lies ahead.  For now, it’s time to enjoy the moment and,

Go Forth and Prosper,

Monday’s Menu

March 13, 2018 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Monday’s Momentum Menu

Monday Momentum:  strength or force gained by motion or by a series of events, eg   The ice pic  gained momentum as it rolled down the hill.

Horrible events happened at the house Sunday.  I take full responsibility for the results of the day.  I did not go to church. I should have. I did not take my granddaughter swimming like I promised. I should have.

I did chip ice from the steps, very physical as some of the ice was 4 inches deep. I should have done that Saturday. A heavy ice chipper slid down the hill, curved and landed on my foot. It hurt!

I made my son angry. Oops,  I cannot make him angry. He chose to be angry.

Sunday screamed for a change.  Have you ever felt like it was time for a change?

On Excellent Avenue, my behavior was unacceptable. Sunday is over, reviewed and forgiven.  Forcing action for today generates the momentum for this week.

Let’s share a success menu.  For food, remember we are doing Keto. Weight Watchers will happen as soon as I get my body detoxed.

First on my Menu:   Appetizer — Keep commitments, avoid the awful feeling described above!  Enjoy peace, harmony and share joy!

Breakfast:  Protein shake

Lunch: Mixed Green Salad with a sliced hard-boiled egg and sugar-free dressing.

Tuesday Dinner:  new recipe from KETO comfort foods by Maria Emmerich.

Shredded Amish Chicken and Gravy

  1. 6 boneless chicken thighs

  2. 1 cup chicken bone broth

  3. 1 8 oz package cream cheese

  4. 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

  5. 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

  6. Fresh herbs of choice such as thyme for garnish

Serve with:

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with sliced Avocado

Lemon Iced Water

prep time 5 minutes, cook time 6 hours

  2. Store extras in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

I will give an honest review and note any changes next Monday.  We will share another recipe. If you are doing Keto, please share a recipe with me.

It’s time to roll into Tuesday and

Keto or Paleo for Dinner Menu?

February 24, 2018 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

Monday’s menu was supposed be a written and posted  February 19th. The weekend prior to the 19th, I researched, read, and generated thousands of thoughts before committing. Monday, the menu was not ready.  Today is Friday and I am completing this post. Remember, Friday is Finish Day.

If I were good with this communication, I would have shared a ton of questions and asked for encouragement.  Instead, I struggled. My Second issue  was technical.  In my head, I could see the way I want this to look and read.  From my head to my fingers it did not compute. I am in the messy middle of a learning process.

Finally, I selected the Ketogenic diet. Dr. Mark Sisson suggests the 21 day step down diet to Keto.

Recipes  I am using   this week are from Maria Emmerich’s book, Keto Comfort Foods.  I ordered The Keto Reset Diet by Mark Sisson.  I  read his blog, testimonials and for me the reset diet right.  It is a 21 day step down from my “normal” eating patterns.

The past two months I refrained from sugar with every meal, ate very little bread and did not drink  Sodas. Deleting these items will be a great boost going forward.

I am  Excited and looking forward with anticipation to  health improvements, energy and improved skin and hair!

This weekend I will complete the grocery shopping list for this month.  Changing foods will not be as expensive if daily trips to the grocery store are avoided.  Monday should be good for sharing the list with you!

Tonight we had Cabbage soup made with:

  • 1 Large Head of Cabbage

  • 1 Large Onion Sliced

  • 1 Stalk of Celery

  • 2 quarts of chicken broth

  • Salt

  • Black Pepper

  • Chunked Bacon Bits

Fry the Bacon Bits Slowly in Olive Oil.  Add sliced onion and  2 table spoons of  butter.  Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes.

go forth and prosper,

I will go forth and write…haha

Two Thousand Miles Away from Home!

August 15, 2016 by Molinda Goforth Leave a Comment

It has been so much fun to drive across country see people I haven’t seen in 3 years.  Did you realize we look older after 3 years?  Now, why is it some folks look younger after 3 years.

My judgement of appearance was those people who were happy, at a great weight and at peace seemed younger than I remembered. Other friends had endured hardships, hung onto them and the weight of the world had taken a toll.

For the journey, I promised to post everyday.   I have had a meeting with myself and the self that does not keep her word is Fired!

Here we are destination Woodbridge, Virginia.  My last stop and task for this trip was to stop in Durham, NC and see the surgeon who fixed my foot.  As you know, it wasn’t fixed has gotten progressively worse each day for 3 years. He was sad that his fix did not work.  He assured me, he could fix it!  While that maybe my option, my next task is for a second opinion.

I have an appointment at John Hopkins September the 8th!  I am excited as this is the number one hospital and looking forward to the Verdict!

State of Art Medical Facility

State of the Art Medical Facility

This week has a full schedule.  Wednesday, I leave Woodbridge and travel to Charlotte to discuss business with Jan.

Thursday, it’s time to go to the Dodge Dealership in Spartanburg for the recall on my car.

Friday, I will travel to Middlesboro, Ky and visit with Family.

Saturday is the Asher Family Reunion in Corbin, Kentucky.

Would you like to have pictures of this week’s travel?

Goforth with me,
