Sometimes I live life and sometimes it just happens. My goals are stated, my plan in place work is scheduled and life just happened this past week. Sunday, I flew in from Billings, Montana to Spartanburg, S.C.
Monday, my car wouldn’t start. In pouring down rain the battery was replaced. My trunk was full of personal items which had to be taken out because the battery is there. Sorry, I missed that part of the plan.
I planned to go to Kentucky. On the way I planned to stop at my storage unit and added items. Mission accomplished. I even let them dry before putting them in storage. This happened Tuesday.
Once in Kentucky, Wednesday I attended the visitation for my 1st Cousin, who had committed suicide. That wasn’t in my plan. Visiting with relatives under those circumstances was very sad and emotionally disturbing.
Thursday was scheduled to visit with my Uncle in London. Didn’t happen. He is 89 and his wife 93. Their health is fragile and I am so happy each time I visit them.
An unexpected visit from a friend from sometime ago took the place of the London visit. He was planning his wishes for end of life care. Friday, my emotions had to rest.
I planned to go to the Women’s conference in Middlesboro on Saturday. Awesome, I went and was blessed. I also won a beautiful door prize. Just after the conference, I made the trip to London to visit my Aunt and Uncle and gifted the door prize to them!
Tomorrow is church. After church I will travel to Charlotte where I will stay for a month. I rented a room in a friend’s house. It has taken a long time for me to commit to rent a room in a private home. For a list of my positive reasons click here. My negative one, is I feel uncertain!
Dear God, please tell me what to do I have listened for your loud instructions, I have been very quiet to hear your whisper, I don’t know what to do.
I had also planned to post the above on Sunday. You already know, I did not! I did keep the plan to go to Charlotte, settle into my rented room and move ahead with working my plan.
The lesson I learned this week is to deal with distractions that delay actions for implementing a plan. My job is to make a Goal, implement a Plan and stay focused to achieve it.
My word to live into this month is No. Initially, I will say No to any request. I will follow with Why! Perhaps sometimes the No will become a Yes. We will see. Remember, when we loose our Why we loose our way (learned from Gail Hyatt). For now, dear friends
