My Mothers Day
Birds singing early in morning fascinate me. Dim light shines through the trees highlighting the different colors. In the stillness of morning, a gentle breeze generates a noise similar to that of a flowing stream or traffic.
I am awakened by this dawn chorus of birdsong at 5 am. Around 6, I opened the window and took this little video so you could hear the songs! This place is my Shiloh.
The mass of trees just outside my window make an auditorium where the birds gather and sing. I heard them yesterday. Now, it’s early morning and they are busy singing!
Why do they sing so early in the morning? Well, let me share. Their choir is mostly male, making an attempt to attract mates and warn other males away from their territories!
This is our lesson about birds today. I wonder if they know it is Mothers Day!
Mothers day…… one of the most wonderful sounds in the world to me is when one of my sons call and say, “Hello Mom.” We have progressed from the early sounds of their childhood saying Mama, and later, Mother, now the most precious, ” Hello Mom.”
I grew up with my three sons. Now, they are grown and perhaps I am.
September 1st, I turned 18 and September 23 my first son was born. Two others joined us later. Do young mothers make mistakes? Yes! It is my guess that the ones who are grown up make them too.
I am waiting for the phone to ring. On the West Coast it’s just breaking day. My son there is an early riser and will hear the birds sing this morning. The other two, one in the Eastern time zone and one in Mountain, will most likely sleep and miss the music!
My cup is full and running over this morning with joy. Dear God, thank you doesn’t seem like enough to say for the blessings I have! This past week, each day I wandered through the memories of my childhood and missed my Mom. Thank you, God, for her. Do you hear her singing in heaven this morning?
My prayer this morning is specific. I ask you God to guide me, allow this to be my best year ever as a Mom and to create memories for my Sons that will last when I join you. I pray for a special blessing for each person reading this today. To my friends who are reading this, enjoy your day.
go forth and prosper,
