When I was a little girl, my bedroom was adjacent to my Mom and Dad. There was a door that opened into their bedroom. When I was older, it was closed for privacy.
Today, I am remembering the time of being small, around 3 and at night, I would hear my Dad praying. If I looked into their bedroom, he would be on his knees on his side of the bed and my Mom would be on her knees on her side. My Dad’s prayers were audible, and my Mom’s soft and sweet…………I wondered how God could hear them talking at the same time. It seemed my Mother was always praying. I think she prayed in her sleep.
Somehow, sharing my Sunday Prayer with you ignites the memory of safety, the grounding of prayer for life’s problems and my declaration of my love for God. The prayer is for God, but if you are listening, you are invited to join.
Hello God, thank you for this day. I plan to travel today and take You with me. You know I don’t like to drive in the rain. Please protect me.
Mark is running his first half marathon today. Please, I ask you give him feet that are sure and fast, help him place and release endorphins of joy. Please bless his physical condition and give him an inspired vision from you when this marathon race today is complete.
My soul weeps this morning. I am aware I am running my final lap….Dear God, as I go forth from here, please be my guide, make things clear so I don’t fail in my assignment from you.
My prayer today from my heart is for my 3 Sons, their wives, and the 3 grandchildren. May they walk in your favor, run in the right direction with the grace of a deer and be a shining light for you.
